Marten River Lodge is located south of Temagami and on the Marten River, which has an overpopulation of Black Bears. Their success rate is usually in the 75% to 100% range. All of their hunters see Black Bears, which gives them the confidence to pass on smaller bears. The average size is over 200 pounds. They do have trophy Black Bears in the 350 - 400 lbs.
