Black Bear Hunting

Missanabie Black Bear Hunting

Camp Missanabie is located noth of Wawa & Chapleau in Northern Ontario. We have a large BMA with some of the biggest Black Bears in Ontario. We take a limited number of hunters each year to ensure a very high success rate. Black Bears are common in the 150 to 350 pound range and sometimes bears exceeding 450 pounds are harvested. Moose hunting is excellent. We have adult tags for both Archery and Rifle hunting. All hunters are welcome to enjoy the fabulous fishing while you are here. We have Walleye, Pike, bass, Brook Trout and Lake Trout fishing. www.campmissanabie.com

Fox's Den Lodge has a tradition for hosting one of the top Black Bear hunts in Ontario. Our BMA (Bear Management Area) covers 55,000 acres of prime Black Bear habitat and is bordering the western side of the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. The Missanabie side of the game preserver experiences 1/10th the amount of hunting due to the remote location and absence of outfitters in the area compared to the eastern side near Chapleau. As a result, guests experience a fantastic success rate and in most cases can pass on multiple smaller bears to wait for a big old boar. Bears in the 175 to 350 pound range are the most common sizes that are harvested with the odd bear exceeding 400 pounds. Fox’s Den caters to both rifle and archery hunts and all hunters are welcome to take advantage of the fantastic fishing. Fox's Den offers both housekeeping and full American Plan accommodations. www.foxsdenlodge.com
