Black Bear Hunting

Rainy River Black Bear Hunting

Harris Hill Resort is located near Rainy River on Lake of The Woods Black Bear of Blonde, Brown or Cinnamon Bear Color Phases are seen here. The Natural Resource's Biologists tell us that Black Bear migrate to Harris Hill Resort's exclusive black bear hunting area in large numbers from other areas miles and miles away. Perhaps it's the abundance of berries, fruit trees in the area, or acorns that fall from the many Oak trees on our property that draw the bear here. It could be the large amount of vacated land with low pressure Black bear hunting also. All of our sites are set up with stands that are baited. The largest black bear recorded in our large hunting area was a 650 lb. dressed male Black Bear, and a 700 lb. live weight Cinnamon Bear. Bears are more common between 200 and 400 pounds though. Whatever size you harvest, you will be thrilled by the excitement of your Trophy Black Bear Hunt. www.harrishillresort.com

Northumberland Resort has one of the larger Black Bear Management Areas (BMA is 280 square miles) in Ontario with drive-to baited stands in a variety of terrains as well as extremely remote fly-in outposts lakes with baited stands. The region is not only one of the best areas for Black Bear hunting in Ontario; bears in the area get big and guests enjoy a 92% or better success rate. Each hunter is guaranteed three baits, which maximizes your sightings and lets you pass on smaller bears and wait for the big old boars, which reach 500 pounds or more in the area. While at the resort you will eat like kings and enjoy outstanding trophy fishing if you want. Our fly-in outpost cabins are clean and comfortable and also have outstanding fishing. www.northumbrianresort.com

Clearwater Lodge: A true king of the forest, our Black Bears commonly reach over 400 lbs but are most common in the 225 to 350 lbs range. Occasionally a 600-pounder is harvested but a bear that big is approaching record size and very rare. Black Bears in our area are also available in rare color phases, which are referred to as Chocolate Black Bears, Cinnamon Black Bears and Brown Black Bears. Our bear hunts are not for the faint of heart as our stands are within 30 yards from our baits, giving you a heart pounding close up. You will need all of your hunter skills to go after one of these trophy animals. Large boars become very smart and intelligent. With a nose that can smell food 5 miles away, these kings of the forest easily detect subtle changes in smell and abnormal sounds in their kitchen. So please sit still, take every precaution regarding your scent and be ready because at any moment that next trophy may walk your way. Our BMA covers many square miles of prime Black Bear habitat. Our bait stands are located more than a mile apart and we start baiting weeks before the hunt giving our Black Bear hunting guests an unusually high success rate. www.clearwaterlodge.net
